Curated journeys
on the island of Crete, Greece
rooted in living traditions

Crete is a land of lived traditions — craft, foodways, landscapes, and know-how rooted in place. At Tylc International, I design small, mindful experiences that go beyond sightseeing to bring travellers into meaningful connection with local culture — while uplifting the people who keep that culture alive.

Each journey grows slowly and intentionally, shaped by season, relationships, and deep respect for place — never by volume or demand.

Discover selected encounters with artisan makers, traditional craft workshops, heritage-led food experiences, and culturally rooted activities that nourish senses and support local livelihoods.

what to expect:

Artisan Workshops & Heritage Projects — Exploratory, small-scale encounters with makers and tradition keepers, shaped by season and availability. Activities may include garden cooking, soap making, weaving, leatherwork, or knife engraving — chosen for their cultural value and continuity.

Landscape & Land-Based Encounters — Slow explorations of Crete’s varied environments — not just contrast, but context — from mountains and herb-covered hillsides to olive groves and coastal landscapes.

Well-paced Village Encounters — Thoughtfully timed visits that allow guests to engage, learn, and connect in the places where culture lives, with a clear rhythm to the day and space for rest and personal time.

Shared Meals with Meaning — Meals that invite guests into local food traditions through shared preparation and conversation, when and where it feels natural, shaped by hospitality and season.

Curator of Heritage-Led Journeys in Crete

For nearly two decades, I’ve explored Greece with curiosity, care, and a deep appreciation for the land, its people, and the traditions that shape everyday life.

Over time, Crete has become a true anchor for me — not only for its beauty, but for its depth: living crafts, local makers, land knowledge, and seasonal rhythms that continue to shape daily life.

Through these years, my work naturally evolved toward a more thoughtful way of travelling — one rooted in exchange, presence, and relationship. I began designing experiences that allow time to meet artisans, tradition holders, and makers whose work reflects continuity, skill, and cultural lineage.

This work is for travellers seeking depth over pace, and for local makers interested in sharing their craft through small, thoughtfully designed encounters.

This work isn’t about doing more.

It’s about doing things well — with the right people, at the right pace, and at a scale that feels respectful to everyone involved.

I curate small, carefully paced journeys that create meaningful encounters between guests and local craftspeople. From village-garden cooking and soap making to weaving, leatherwork, and knife making, each experience is chosen for its ability to support craftsmanship, encourage transmission, and offer guests something genuinely rooted in place.

Journeys are intentionally small — typically up to six guests — and unfold at a calm, well-paced rhythm. Each day is guided and thoughtfully timed, allowing space for engagement, rest, and personal moments, while respecting the people involved and the places visited.

My approach

  • Heritage-led — grounded in practices shaped by history, skill, and lived knowledge

  • Small by design — intimate groups that allow for presence, exchange, and ease

  • Supportive of living traditions — working alongside makers to welcome guests into their work and daily practices

If you are a craftsperson, maker, or tradition holder in Crete and are interested in exploring a thoughtful collaboration, I would be glad to connect and start a conversation.
